FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I use a Registered Nurse and not a carer?
I have undertaken extensive academic, evidence-based training and have 30 years of acute clinical experience. As a registered professional, I am accountable to the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC), delivering safe and effective person-centred care.
To maintain my professional registration, I continue to work clinically and receive updates including patient handling, infection control and life support training. This practice contact ensures I am up to date with evidence-based guidelines.
How much does it cost?
Please contact us for more information.
What areas do you cover?
I am based in Worthing and cover surrounding areas. My remote support allows me to help you wherever you are. Please get in touch.
What Happens if my Operation is Postponed?
I will be in contact with you prior to your hospital visit. I am flexible to any changes of planned surgery dates.
Is there a Contract?
Yes, your expectations of the service will be discussed and clarified at your First Assessment meeting, where your consent, your role and my role as Post-Op Nurse, will be discussed in depth.
How is My Safety Ensured?
I will always wear branded clothing and carry an identification badge. If I have any concerns about your health, I am able to escalate concerns according to clear protocols and procedures to ensure that you are safe and well looked after. Post-Op Nurse’s own safety is ensured by a link to the Post-Op Nurse office.
Do you only see surgical patients?
No. You do not have to have had an operation to be supported and cared for by Post-Op Nurse. I can see medical patients too, including those who’ve had prolonged hospital stays or been discharged from critical care. Please get in touch to see how I can help.
